Talking more about FIQ, besides everything the event had like rounded tables, workshops, the contact with the artists, there were also some nice, rare and releasing books on sale!

In the image above are some of the books I could find and buy. I confess that I couldn’t read everything. But I’ll do it soon! ;-)

Falando mais sobre o FIQ, além de tudo que o evento teve como mesas redondas, oficinas, o contato com os artistas, tiveram também alguns bons, raros e lançamentos de livros à venda!

Na imagem acima estão alguns dos livros que eu pude achar e comprar. Eu confesso que ainda não puder ler tudo. Mas o farei logo! ;-)

Back from the FIQ!

Undoubtedly the best event I’ve ever gone! One of the best organization I’ve ever seen!

Well, we arrived there Friday night in time to watch the rounded table with João, Paulo Ramos, Waldomiro Vergueiro and Vitor Amaro Lacerda about comics at the education, the release of The Umbrella Academy drew by Gabriel Bá and the talk about 70 years of Batman.

Walking around, we saw Craig Thompson there and asked for a sketch. He not only did it, but also had a nice talking with us witch showed us how nice guy he is. And made me shocked seeing how fast and glorious he paints! It’s like his fingers are brushes!

Another nice person we met there was Gustavo Duarte. Great guy and nice talking we had! And as a long time fan, of course I asked a sketch. He makes vectors with hands!

Saturday we watched all the rounded tables, especially Grampá’s, talking about his journey.

At the same day happened the talk about “Internet and Scans” with Sidney Gusman, Joe Prado and Amaury de Paula, witch I had to leave a little early to get one of the few copies of Sex, Drugs and Rock’N’Roll (Power Trio, Overdose and Cabaret) and the release of Encore by Mondo Urbano. Witch I met Edu Medeiros, who also made me a sketch!

The conversation with Craig Thompson was at night, but, in my opinion, could be better, not because the artist, but the public that focused the questions on his personal life, not his job.

Sunday we also got all the tables, detaching the one about Indie Market with the Twins, Grampá, Vasilis Lolos and Becky Cloonan.

It was simply unforgettable.

De volta do FIQ!

Sem dúvidas o melhor evento que já fui! Uma das melhores organizações que eu já vi!

Bem, nós chegamos lá na sexta a noite a tempo de assistir a mesa redonda com o João, Paulo Ramos, Waldomiro Vergueiro e Vitor Amaro Lacerda sobre quadrinhos na educação, o lançamento de The Umbrella Academy desenhada pelo Gabriel Bá e a conversa sobre os 70 anos de Batman.

Andando por lá, vimos Craig Thompson por lá e pedimos um sketch. Ele não só o fez, como também tivemos uma agradável conversa que nos mostrou toda sua simpatia. E nos deixou surpresos vendo quão rápido e magnífico ele pinta! É como se seus dedos fossem pincéis!

Outra simpatia de pessoa que conhecemos foi o Gustavo Duarte. Super simpático e muito legal a conversa que tivemos! E como um fã de longa data, claro que eu pedi um sketch. Ele faz vetores com as mãos!

Sábado nós vimos todas as mesas redondas, especialmente a do Grampá, falando sobre sua trajetória.

No mesmo dia aconteceu a conversa sobre “Internet e Scans” com Sidney Gusman, Joe Prado e Amaury de Paula, que eu tive que sair um pouco mais cedo pra pegar uma das poucas cópias de Sexo, Drogas e Rock’N’Roll (Power Trio, Overdose e Cabaret) e o lançamento de Encore pelo Mondo Urbano. A conversa com o Craig Thompson foi a noite, mas, na minha opinião, poderia ter sido melhor, não em função do artista, mas pelo público que focou mais a vida pessoal dele que seu trabalho.

Domingo nós também pegamos todas as mesas, destaque para a de Mercado Independente com os gêmeos, Grampá, Vasilis Lolos e Becky Cloonan.

Foi simplesmente inesquecível.

Sketching the characters of SIM Project: “Pega-Pega”.

SIM is a project of my wife Vanessa and me to make some comics about disgraces and disease of this world.

The series starts with “Pega-Pega” (The Brazillian expression to Tag Game) a story about child sexual abuse.

Today I’ll pay for my tickets to go to FIQ! I’m very anxious, it seems to be a great event!

• “Bat talk” – 70 years of Batman – with Ivan Freitas da Costa, Ivan Reis, Eddy Barrows and Joe Bennett;

Saturday

• Fast conversation – Scene actions with Rafael Grampá;
• The release of “Pixu” with Fábio Moon, Gabriel Bá, Becky Cloonan and Vasilis Lolos;
• Conversation with Craig Thompson;

Sunday

• Round table “Indie Market” with Fábio Moon, Gabriel Bá, Rafael Grampá, Becky Cloonan and Vasilis Lolos;

And I also expect to get there in time to see João Marcos’s talk Friday afternoon!
